The Funkoars
Adelaide's much loved, Funkoars are celebrating joining the Golden Era Records family with an all new "Hangover". This Premium Edition version of? "The Hangover" not only includes the hit singles "Black Sally" and "What's Your Malfunction" which both received heavy rotation on Triple J but to add to these already mega successful tracks the Oars will include two new Remix's and a remarkable new track which brings them together with ARIA nominated artist Ash Grunwald. You may ask why a premium edition for a record that hasn't been out that long & has only had two singles lifted from it? The Answer is simple the Oars aren't the kind of group that let opportunities pass them by. The prospect of joining Golden Era & being able to deliver some new music they've been working on to their fans was to big a carrot to ignore.
Funkoars have been on a steady rise to the top tier of Australian hip hop – thanks in no small part to the group's individualism and tenacity in going for self while others tread a well-worn path. Their caution-to-the-wind approach strikes a chord with the audience, as their sales history and live show testifies. A look at their recent tour history for "the Hangover" alone shows an undying commitment and keen sense of what a truly electric live show the Funkoars present to any given punter at any given time. They are the epitome of what live hip hop is all about, big beats, big voices, big tracks and big crowds. When it comes to Festivals the crowd love 'em and bands are scared to go on after them. There are but a few artists who can capture the feel & spirit of their record and re-produce it as a live set. You haven't seen The Hangover till you've seen the Oars do it live. It's due to their inimitable reputation as live performers as well as hip hop producers that have seen the likes of Homebake, Pyramid Rock Festival and Summadayze (to name but a few) scramble to add Funkoars to their lineups over summer and with the premium edition of "The Hangover" to add the ultimate sweetener it's going to be one exciting summer for The Funkoars and the myriad of fans who love 'em.
We know you will to.
